Jamboree Question of the Day - Day 41 , Dec 19th 2010

How many integers from 500 to 799, inclusive, contain 6 or 7 in it?

(A) 220
(B) 236
(C) 238
(D) 240
(E) 242

Solution (Posted on Dec 20th):

Answer: B
t – n = 6 or 7 – both = Total - wrong ones
Total = 300
Those which don’t have 6 and 7 = 1 * 8 * 8 = 64
Therefore = 300 – 64 = 236
